UNIFI SELF-CARE APP

Implementation of new Unifi branding into self-care mobile app.

THE VISUAL

For the UNIFI Self-Care App project, the focus was on revamping the app's look and feel to align with the brand's refreshed visual identity.

The main and secondary colours were maintained, but new fonts and design elements were introduced to create a fresh and updated UI for the app. The aim was to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly experience for customers when accessing and managing their account details and services through the mobile app.

HIGH LEVEL TIMELINE

I was given 5 days to create a new user interface (UI) for UNIFI's self-care mobile app that would reflect their rebranding efforts.

MAKE OF THE TEAM

Visual Designer

KEY GOAL

To implement the new Unifi branding into all Unifi platforms, including the self-care mobile app.

MY ROLE

I'm the Visual Designer for this rebranding implementation of the UNIFI's self-care app.

As the Visual Designer for the UNIFI self-care app project, I was responsible for implementing the latest UNIFI branding into the app's UI. To begin, I gathered information and studied the latest UNIFI branding guidelines before selecting suitable elements to incorporate into the UI.

Throughout the project, I prioritized content organization and made sure the navigation was intuitive, the touch targets were appropriately sized, the text was legible, and the layout was optimized for a seamless user experience. I continuously tested and optimized the visual design to ensure it met the project goals.

To achieve an attractive and easily readable design suitable for all screen sizes, I incorporated a card-based design approach. This method allowed for content to be organized effectively while ensuring equal importance to each card. Overall, I completed the project within the given 5-day deadline.

THESE WERE SOME MAJOR LEARNINGS OR POINTS I WANTED TO CALL OUT

 Navigation Intuitive

To ensure a positive user experience, it's important to prioritize intuitive navigation in app and website design. This includes providing clear and simple pathways for completing primary tasks, as well as legible text, proper spacing, and optimized layouts for touch screens.

Touchscreen Target Sizes

To optimize for touch screens, designers should consider the ergonomics of mobile app design, such as ensuring touch targets are large enough to prevent errors and minimizing spacing between action buttons to avoid undesired actions.

Provide User Control

In addition to intuitive navigation, providing user control is also key to a positive user experience. This can include allowing users to personalize their journey by changing settings, controlling notifications, and cancelling actions. It's important to give users a sense of control over the system, while still suggesting actions or providing warnings when necessary.

Finally, integrating status and other types of feedback into the interface can provide transparency and a sense of freedom for the user. By keeping the user informed of what's going on without disrupting their workflow, designers can ensure a seamless and positive user experience.

LESSONS LEARNED

To create exceptional user experiences, it's important to prioritize the user's needs and preferences when designing interfaces.

This means focusing on usability principles like learnability, efficiency, memorability, error prevention, and satisfaction. It's also essential to keep the design simple and intuitive, with clear navigation pathways and large touch targets. Additionally, allowing users to personalize their journeys and providing accessibility features can enhance the user experience. To ensure success, it's important to test interfaces early and often to identify and address any issues. Ultimately, the goal is to create a seamless experience across all devices that satisfies and delights the user.
