MY ROLE

I'm the Visual Designer for this campaign.

As the Visual Designer for Webe's "Take M3 Home" campaign, I was given a tight deadline of 1-2 days to create a mobile-responsive visual and website layout that would load quickly while maintaining the brand's identity.

My main goal was to promote Webe's new device and broadband entertainment service app by designing a visually appealing campaign that would attract new users. To achieve this, I created a blue electric morph galaxy background with a pair of hands holding the M3 device, showing the user what it would be like to have the device.

In addition, I included the hyppTv app and earphones in the visual to demonstrate what users could expect when purchasing the device. I also utilized bright pink badges to capture the user's attention.

For the website layout, I designed a second fold that provided information about the device, services, and a call-to-action. I used an orange background to create a sense of excitement and urgency. The remaining folds had a neutral colour scheme, with white backgrounds and dark blue text. Finally, I used a grey background with white text in the last fold to balance out the other two folds and prevent the layout from becoming overwhelming.

THESE WERE SOME MAJOR LEARNINGS OR POINTS I WANTED TO CALL OUT

Colour Psychology

Color is a powerful tool that affects human behavior and can alter our perceptions and actions. This is known as color psychology, which is a branch of behavioral psychology. Using color thoughtfully and purposefully is important to achieve success in communication, branding, and design efforts. However, it's important to avoid overusing colors and creating confusion. White can be used as a base color to balance out more vibrant hues and prevent color overload. Overall, understanding and utilizing the principles of color psychology can help to enhance our daily lives and achieve success in various fields.

LESSONS LEARNED

When working with a pre-existing branding or style guide, there are still ways to utilize colour psychology. One option is to incorporate psychology-appropriate colours that match the existing colour scheme, such as using a strategic pop of colour for a call-to-action button or other important element. However, it's important to be mindful of not going against the existing branding or colour palette.

If the colours are not effective or do not align with the intended audience or purpose, it may be worth advocating for a change. Sharing concerns with decision-makers and demonstrating the impact of a well-designed colour scheme can be helpful in making a case for a colour update. Ultimately, using colour thoughtfully and strategically can make a significant difference in achieving desired outcomes and enhancing user experience.
